Promise VTrak monitoring
In case of usage of
Virtual Appliance
- Use local account lpar2rrd for hosting of STOR2RRD on the virtual appliance
- Use /home/stor2rrd/stor2rrd as the product home
The product obtains all data from Promise VTrak SNMP interface.
Install Prerequisites (skip that in case of Virtual Appliance)
Allow network access

Allow access from the STOR2RRD host to the Promise VTrak storage on port 161 UDP .
Test if port is open:
$ perl /home/stor2rrd/stor2rrd/bin/conntest_udp.pl 192.168.1.1 161
Connection to "192.168.1.1" on port "161" is ok
Storage SNMP configuration : Enable SNMP
- Login to the Promise WebPAM as a user account that has with Privilege level rights set as “Super”.
- Select the “Administration” tab
- Select the “Services” options from the right-side pannel:
- Select “SNMP” and then select “Settings”:
- Set the following:
- Then select “Add” and it will then be displayed in the Trap Sinks list on the right-side box outlined in red
